This is my contribution to your projects competition Old Buildings.
It is called English Cottage, and is a watercolour painted with a wet on wet method.  It is from a book I have on English houses.

"The Collector"

This painting is looser then I usually paint. Maybe all the yard junk got me working looser. I don't know. It's on a half sheet Waterford.

"Untitled"

This is an old house now abandoned inside the fence and walls that surround the historical castle and other ruins in Byblos, Lebanon. I added a few palm trees. The paper is 140 pound Arches cold press rough and I used Daniel Smith paints with a bit of sepia ink on the windows and doors.

Thank you for this challenge...think I will try a few other old buildings...maybe some from the trip I took with my daughter and the houses we took photos of in Saint Joseph, MO.

Hope you are enjoying your summer!

"Untitled"

This is painted from an image of an old grain elevator east of Havre, Montana on highway 2.  It appears to be the product of several generations of add ons. It is painted on a full sheet.

"Buffalo Boy Mine"

This is a painting of the tram house at the Buffalo Boy Mine that is located in the San Juan Mountains above the town of Silverton, Colorado--well above-12,000 ft. I took a photo for this painting two years ago, and have finally gotten around to getting it on watercolor paper--Arches 140# rough. It had been several years since I had painted on rough, using mostly CP--but I liked the rough--much better for texture. The size is 22" x 30". Here is a link to a site that has a bit more information about the Buffalo Boy Mine: http://www.ghosttowns.com/ states/co/buffaloboymine.html
